What a nice challet is above Strbske Pleso? It's called Solisko (1840m asl) and if you don't prefer chairlift you can walk there by blue marked hiking route.
Starting point of this route is near the Strbske jazero (lake) but mostly are hikers starting from a hotel FIS and lower chair lift station. After short traverse you get the blue marked foot-path. This is used in winter by skialpinists.
The path is grass type, in the second part are dominating stones which are aranged like stairs. Challet is visible all the way, but don't be lucky – the challet is reachable after 1,5 hour, not earlier.
From a 1840m asl on the western part of High Tatras is a wonderful view on Poprad and Liptov hollows. Outstanding beauty view is on the Slovak national hill – Krivan. On the other side is Patria, Mala Basta, Predna Basta and Satan.
If would see something more, continue by the red marked foot-path on the top of Predne Solisko (2117,2m asl). A climb tooks about one hour or so. From the top is superb view into the Furkotska and Mlynicka valley.
The way back is the same one like upwards. From the top to the challet it is 30 minutes and from there to Strbske Pleso about one hour. In the season is possible to use also the yellow and red marked foot-path through the Furkostka valley.
